QA/QC Manager
Title
Vacant Position – QA/QC Manager
We are looking for a QA/QC Manager to join our team. The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuring flawless production processes for all products and services. This includes the design, development, and implementation of specific quality management procedures and strategies.
Main Job Functions
- Compile and complete the Q.C. Plan in accordance with design and client specifications.
- Ensure that all quality standards set out in the Q.C.P. are met and that all ISO 9001-2015 processes are followed and adhered to.
- Liaise with clients and third-party inspectors and carry out inspections with them.
- Assist the Production team in achieving maximum performance while maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Liaise with the Expediter to ensure a high level of quality and workmanship is maintained on all outsourced work.
- Conduct regular quality audits with the Expediter to ensure all outsourced functions are maintained at the highest standard.
- Assist the Q.C. Inspector in identifying and prioritizing crucial hold-points so they can be verified as quickly as possible, ensuring maximum production flow.
- Identify non-conformances and prescribe corrective actions.
- Apply for concessions in cases where the exact specifications cannot be complied with.
- Compile full chute-specific data books for review and comment by the client.
- Ensure, together with appointed delegates, the safe, secure, and correct loading of all trucks and containers as required by the client.
- Compile delivery documentation and ensure that all relevant signed documentation/PODs are routed to the appropriate departments.
- Flag any substantial variance between nested and delivery weights.
- Take clear, representative photographs of chutes and any other items being loaded onto vehicles for dispatch or appoint a delegate to do so.
- Inform the client of expected deliveries or supply the necessary documentation and load specifications if the consignment is for collection, as this determines the required truck size.
- Implement and develop ISO 9001:2015 compliance.
Sub Job Functions
- Conduct quality checks on all work in progress.
- Assist the Q.A. Inspector in prioritizing work to ensure a constant workflow.
- Ensure that Stores are informed of upcoming deliveries, as well as all bought-outs, bolts, and other items to accompany each delivery.
- Ensure all procedures are in place, maintained, and revised where necessary.
- Keep welder qualifications and certifications up to date and current.
- Stay informed of the latest trends and developments in quality management.

- Knowledge of Codes – SANS 2001, AWSD1.1 -2020, ASME IX SPECIFICATIONS,

- Prep of QCPs before fabrication,
- Read and assist Production with detailed Drawings, Inspections of product during fabrication,
- Visual inspection of Weld
- Detailed Measuring records of chutes ( Dimension Records)
- Liaise with third-party inspection and EPCM
- Compile of Data Book throughout the fabrication process
- Assist with the dispatch of chutes
- Delivery documentation compiled
- Signed PODs received
Qualifications and Experienced Requirements
- Qualifications in Boilermaker, Welding inspection (SAIW) MT & PT, Galvanizing Inspection, and Corrosion Inspection.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience as a QA / QC Manager
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience at the artisan level
- Maintain ISO9001 Standard,
- Knowledge of Codes – SANS 2001, AWSD1.1 -2020, ASME IX SPECIFICATIONS,
- WPS and PQR Approvals (AWSD1.1 Specification)

A vacancy exists in the Client Services Department for a Field Advisor in the Rustenburg area.
Position Key Tasks and Duties
- Assistance with new and or sections of chute installations/replacements.
- Weekly planning on actions to be done, inspections, technical assistance, etc.
- Ensure that all planned inspections are carried out and reported.
- Ensure that the relevant foreman receive inspection report and discuss deviations.
- Ensure if parts are ordered that everything is delivered to mine before installation.
- Deliver quotes in person to the foreman where possible.
- Follow up on quotations.
- Do some marketing while on site by ensuring that the foreman sees the need of ordering using the inspection report as a backup.
- Assist with any queries that the foreman may have or escalate it to his superior.
- Assist with any queries from H/O regarding invoices, deliveries, measurements etc.
- Assist mine personnel with LOL on installation of lips.
- Ensure that an inspection report is completed in detail and handed to the Site Administrator on weekly basis.
- Complete maintenance job sheets in detail on a weekly basis.
- Do daily pre-start on vehicle and make sure that it is clean.
- Submit vehicle checklist on weekly basis.
- Update robot report on weekly basis.
Experience Required
- Must have a minimum of 3 years plant experience in maintenance.
- Chute experience will be an added advantage.
Education & Qualification Requirements
- Grade 12.
- Tertiary qualification will be a benefit.
- A qualified artisan, either fitter, boilermaker or draughtsman will be an advantage.

Weba Chutes is seeking an experienced Drawing Office Checker to join our team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Drawing Office Manager and play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of technical drawings.

Key Responsibilities

Check and approve various types of drawings, including:
- Approval drawings
- Manufacturing drawings
- Parts list drawings
- Installation drawings
- Lip order lists
- Maintain records of drawing efficiencies
- Assist with training and development within the Drawing Office
Minimum Requirements
- Senior Certificate
- National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) advantageous
- Minimum 10 years’ draughting experience
- At least 5 years’ experience as a Drawing Office Checker within mining, manufacturing, or fabrication environments
- Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software
- Strong communication skills
- Effective time management
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Willingness to work overtime at short notice
